March 8th marks International Women’s Day around the globe, a day dedicated to celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women, while also calling attention towards accelerating women’s equality.
The Naramata Centre & Spiritual Path to Awakening (SPA) have partnered to present this lunchtime “Feminine Spirituality” Panel Discussion, featuring women speakers from across British Columbia to share their diverse experiences and embodiments of Feminine Spirituality. Participants will be invited to join in the conversation.
Event Moderator:
KATHERINE MURRAY: Katherine is passionate about God, the contemplative life, and spiritual transformation. She deeply loves the practices of Centering Prayer and Listening Prayer as they offer us a way to be present to our union with God. For 12 years she has been facilitating retreats, groups and individual sessions to guide and companion others on their spiritual journey. For the last three years she has been a part of the Abbotsford Interfaith Movement. Katherine holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree, a Masters degree in International Relations and is currently taking theology courses at the Vancouver School of Theology.

SHARANJIT KAUR SANDHRA: Sharanjit Kaur Sandhra (or Sharn) is the Coordinator at the South Asian Studies Institute at the University of the Fraser Valley, co-curator of exhibits at the Sikh Heritage Museum, located in the National Historic Site Gur Sikh Temple in Abbotsford, BC and a sessional faculty in the Department of History at UFV. She is a PhD Candidate in the Department of History at UBC and is interested in looking at the affective experiences of museum visitors through a critical race theory lens. Sharn’s a passionate activist, building bridges between community and academia through museum work. She is a past member of the BC Museums Association, and currently a Director with the Pacific Canada Heritage Centre – Museum of Migration.
EESHA PALLAN: My name is Eesha Pallan, and I’d want to introduce myself. I am a twenty-one-year-old woman. At the age of 16, I immigrated to Canada. I graduated from a high school in Canada. For three years, I was also a Silver Fox Air Cadet. I am now pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Feminine Spirituality, in my opinion, portrays a caring and nurturing nature. We breathe our first breath, realize we’re living in a female body, and give birth from a female body. A female body change and grow in many shapes and form and goes through so much in her entire life. Many female gods have inspired and influenced the society from which I belong. Women are typically shown as soft and kind, not in a demeaning way, but in a powerful way.
DAWN BURN: I am an Artist/Coach/Speaker who has turned a lifetime of experience into meaningful personal direction. In 2020 I took a leap of faith. I retired six years early, feeling that if my attention was focused on my creative drive, I would realize my fulfilment. That move brought me to coaching and other accomplishments. Since retiring I have become a certified Life and Wellness Coach, accredited through the International Coaching Federation. I have facilitated school district Professional Development workshops for equality, addressing anti-Black Racism, and group coaching to leverage personal inspiration in the workplace, and illustrated a children’s book to be published in 2023. Other experience includes being a lifelong artist, with a Master of Visual Arts Degree- painting (1989). At present, my 1:1 work as a coach is to work with people to spark momentum for change, that engages their direction, growth, and fulfilment. I am thrilled to be part of Naramata’s wonderful offerings for individual and community wellness, inspiration and spiritual growth.
