Spiritual Path to Awakening (SPA), in partnership with the United Church Earth Stewards, invites you to celebrate World Water Day on Tuesday, March 22 at 1:00 pm at the Abbotsford Ravine Park Salmon Enhancement Society Hatchery.

During the event, Dale Taylor, president of Abbotsford Ravine Park Salmon Enhancement Society (ARPSES) will give a talk about the processes that the salmon go through, from egg stage to their release into local streams.

Attendees will see the fry salmon in their indoor “incubation” tank and learn about the activities of the Stream Keeper volunteers who help to ensure the health of salmon habitat. Those who are able will be welcome to join Dale for a short walk down to the Ravine Park Rearing Pond. Approximately 120m downhill from the Hatchery, the rearing pond holds an average of 15,000 fry salmon each year. After a one-year growing period, they are released in spring of the following year.

This event is open to all members of the community. Space is limited, please pre-register on the Spiritual Path to Awakening website to reserve your spot. *Proof of full vaccination required for all attendees aged 12+, additional details below.

$15.00 per adult ticket / $5.00 per child ticket (under 12 years old)

A portion of the event proceeds will be donated to the Abbotsford Ravine Park Salmon Enhancement Society. The Hatchery is 2395 Crescent Way, Abbotsford. Free parking is available in the adjacent lot of the Abbotsford Arts Centre.
