Spiritual Path to Awakening (SPA) welcomes all to the Grounding Techniques for a Meaningful & Magical Holiday Season with Robert Henderson. 

The holiday season is a special, sacred time of year filled with connectivity and reflection. It is also often an overwhelming time, as we’re feeling pressures, navigating hard times, and processing grief. Crafting our own rituals + traditions is a powerful way to claim what’s most magical, meaningful, and alive about this time of year – and let go of the rest.

In this hour together, Robert will open the space with a calming meditation before we learn three simple grounding rituals to reimagine celebration, make space for what matters most, and create a holiday experience for ourselves that’s grounded in what we most cherish.

The event will be recorded, and the recording will be shared with registered attendees after the event. If you are not able to attend live, we invite you to register to receive the recording to save and watch at your convenience. 

 

We invite you to prepare yourself and your space with the following:

  • Clear, cleanse and calm your space (suggested: sound or smoke cleanse, clear away distractions, light a candle, quiet your technology, and/or get comfortable with a blanket, warm socks, cozy clothing)
     
  • Pen/paper within reach to capture thoughts, feelings, and notes from the event

  • A small personal item to charm with intentional energy (i.e. a ring, bracelet, crystal gemstone, river rock, lucky penny - we recommend something you can wear or carry easily in your pocket)

  • Pour yourself beverage (suggested: fruit infused water, warming tea, and/or spiced eggnog) 

 

This event is open to all members of the local and greater community, please pre-register on the SPA website to reserve your spot. About the Event Facilitator, Robert Henderson:

I am Yoga Alliance certified, and am qualified in: Teachers 200 YTT; Yoga Nidra; Restorative Yoga; Chair Yoga; Thai Massage, and Reiki (level 1). I studied Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) with Brandi Matheson, and I am currently enrolled at the Buteyko Breathing Clinic in Galway, Ireland in the Certification Programme.

The body benefits from movement, the mind from stillness. Thus, I have integrated nidra meditation, functional breathing, asanas (shapes), and loving kindness in my Zoom yoga guidance practices. No one is excluded; everyone is included! My classes are designed to be accessible for all – they are chair-based with optional standing poses. With a calm mind and a soothed nervous system, you can really integrate into, and enjoy the strength, beauty, and resilience of your body. The addition of functional breathing and meditation into my guidance leads participants to deeper benefits, for our practice, and our lives.

In this age of profound anxiety, taking care of your body with “yummy stretching and compassionate shapes” in our practice is such a beautiful gift to our mental health. Enjoying a calm mind, and firmly rooted in the present moment, we can live at peace in body, mind, and heart balance.
