Honouring International Women's Day at 15 MINUTES FOR PEACE
During periods of pressure and disconnect, people desire for peace.
Peace of Mind. Peace on Earth. Peace of Body. Peace between Friends & Nations.
Come as you are to join the Abbotsford Interfaith Movement(AIM) & Spiritual Path to Awakening (SPA) at the International Friendship Garden for 15 MINUTES FOR PEACE.
Tuesdays, Weekly from 12:15pm – 12:30pm at the International Friendship Garden. We will gather beneath the Golden Tree monument for a few moments of mindful focus & peace building.
We welcome everyone from all walks of life to take part in this short, intentional time. We are grateful for the diverse, worldly community that makes up Abbotsford. We intend for the 15 MINUTES FOR PEACE initiative to nurture, inspire and fuel peace in our city.
On Tuesday, March 7, 2023, the 15 MINUTES FOR PEACE event discussion will honour International Women's Day. Special guest, Linda Burton of the University Women's Club, will share on the International Women's Day 2023 theme of "Embracing Equity," creating justice and fairness for all.
We respectfully dedicate this special International Women's Day edition of 15 MINUTES FOR PEACE to Armajit Kaur Bal, Sukhvinder Kaur Punia, and Sarbjit Kaur Sidhu, who tragically lost their lives on March 7, 2007. The Golden Tree Monument is erected in memorial of these three women and in dedication to agricultural workers in Canada.
For those unable to join us in person, we encourage you to take a few moments every Tuesday to reflect on peace for yourself and others in our community.
